Ad content is not stored or managed in MediaFreedom. You need to use a third-party Ad System to provide the video ad assets and banner images.
Due to our flexible API driven architecture we can easily integrate with most of the common advertising engines.
MediaFreedom provides support for pre, mid and post roll ads. MediaFreedom integrates with third-party Ad servers that comply with the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) standards for Video Ad Serving (VAST).

The process:
- Twofour sets up the connection between MediaFreedom and your chosen Ad Server.
- Depending on the Ad System being used, the policies will be configured.
- Use our CMS to enable Video Ads by programme, category or on all.
- Use our CMS to define when they want Ads to be shown, e.g. as pre-roll.
- Use our CMS to define key/value pairs to identify the type of Ad to serve.
Our front-end player calls your Ad Server to obtain media advertisement content. A VAST XML file describes the Ad to be played or redirects to other Ad Servers. If the video ad is clicked, a new page opens at the advertiser's website, along with giving real time stats. Once played, tracking information is returned to the Ad Server by our player.

Non-skippable advertising is appealing to advertisers yet often unwelcome by the audience. We would look to explore the effectiveness with you, to allow you to make an informed commercial decision on this. Our expert team can can feed in research from international experience, and also undertake local research to qualify what the most appropriate approach is for your market. We recommend that an Ad plays for 5-10 seconds, after which the viewer has the option to skip ad and continue to regular programming.
